THIS YEAR'S CAUSE

Supporting T-cell Leukemia Research

The 33rd annual Daffodil Gala will be in support of Leukemia Research, with a focus on T-cell leukemia and safer treatments for relapsed disease. Every ticket, every bid, and every donation helps move this research toward better outcomes for children and adults facing relapse.

Why relapse happens

STAT5 helps T-cell leukemia cells survive chemotherapy, which is one reason the disease can return after treatment.

Who is affected

T-cell leukemia returns after treatment in 1 in 5 children and 3 in 5 adults.

Where the research is focused

More than half of T-cell leukemia cases involve cellular processes that STAT5 controls.

Why support matters

Targeting STAT5-regulated pathways could lead to safer, less toxic therapies for relapsed T-cell leukemia.

Directly Support This Research

T-cell leukemia is an aggressive cancer that often returns after chemotherapy because the protein STAT5 helps cancer cells survive.

Johnathon Lucas is studying cellular processes to uncover new, safer, and less toxic therapies to treat T-cell leukemia.

Targeting the cellular pathways regulated by STAT5 will have a major impact on treating these leukemias.
